You recently owned a Fitbit connected bracelet, and you do not yet fully master its use, and the various operations.

The American brand Fitbit embarked on the connected bracelets market in 2007, in order to compete with Apple Watch. In 2019, an agreement to buy the brand was signed, for the benefit of Google. The sale should be finalized in 2021.

In this article we will explain to you how to turn off your bracelet Fitbit, depending on the model you own, because the procedure is a little different.

We will therefore talk about the following models:

  • Fitbit ace
  • Alpha HR
  • Fitbit charge
  • Fitbit versa
  • Inspire / Inspire HR
  • Fitbit Ionic

Despite the enormous increase in the autonomy of the batteries of these bracelets, they still require energy because of the large number of applications available on them.

The procedure for turning off your bracelet will vary depending on the model, and you should be aware that on some models, it is simply not possible to turn it off, unless it was out of battery.

Different procedures for shutting down a apparatus Fitbit, depending on model

Here is the manipulation to perform, depending on the model you have.

Fitbit ace

Le bracelet Fitbit Ace is one of the models of which it is not possible to switch off manually. Your only solution is to wait until you run out of battery, or to trigger a reboot. It won't shut it down permanently, it will just be a reboot.

To do it, charge your bracelet. Then press the button three times on the charging cable, pausing briefly between each press.

If your bracelet is of the Ace 2 model, hold the button on your tracker for five seconds, then release it to restart it.

Turn off a Fitbit Alpha HR

As for the Fitbit Ace, it is not possible to turn off a bracelet Alpha HR. Instead, you can only wait for the end of battery life, or trigger a restart.

The procedure of restart is the same as for the Fitbit Ace : charge your braceletthen press the button three times on the charging cable, pausing briefly between each press.

Wait until you see the fitbit logo appear, which will mean restarting your bracelet.

Fitbit charge

It is the same problem for the Fitbit charge, which cannot be turned off. For restarting, the procedure is a little different than before on other models:

  • Bring up the menu " settings " of your bracelet, by sliding your finger to the side. Then just press " restart the bracelet"
  • If that does not work, there is a manipulation to restart "by force" the bracelet. For that, stay press the button on your bracelet, until you see a small smiley, and feel your bracelet vibrate.

Turn off a Fitbit Versa

No matter what model of Fitbit Versa you have, it is possible to turn it off, in order to save the battery. To do this, do this manipulation:

  • Open the " settings "Of bracelet
  • Select the tab About« 
  • From there, press " switch off", Then confirm the operation

This procedure will therefore turn off your bracelet Fitbit versa. To turn it back on, simply press the left button for a few seconds until you see the Fitbit logo appear.

Fitbit Inspire and Inspire HR

This Fitbit model also cannot be turned off. As before, you will only be able to redémarrer. To do this, connect the power cable, and stay press the button for 5 seconds.

Wait for the bracelet vibrates, and that a smiley appears at screen.

Bracelet Fitbit Ionic

The model Fitbit Ionic works exactly like the Versa. For turn off your bracelet, follow this manipulation:

  • Open the " settings "Of bracelet
  • Select the tab About« 
  • From there, press " switch off", Then confirm the operation

To turn it back on, simply press one of the buttons for a few seconds, until the screen lights up.


Here are the different manipulations to switch off your bracelet Fitbit, depending on model that you own. However, you should be aware that recent models of these bracelet have an autonomy of about 5 days, even in regular use. It is therefore really not essential to turn it off regularly.
